A warm place to find wisdom and insight for Christians

The proverbs of Solomon son of David, king of Israel:
for attaining wisdom and discipline;
for understanding words of insight;
for acquiring a disciplined and prudent life,
doing what is right and just and fair;
for giving prudence to the simple,
knowledge and discretion to the young-
let the wise listen and add to their learning,
and let the discerning get guidance-
for understanding proverbs and parables,
the sayings and riddles of the wise.

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge,
but fools despise wisdom and discipline.

To FEAR the LORD is to HATE all evil...

Wisdom is a good things to have in this world.
The bible states that to fear the lord is to hate all evil
and that this is the beginning of knowledge. If you don't understand this, it will begin to make sense to you the more you search for wisdom.

"if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God" (Proverbs 2:3-5)

More Proverbs from The Bible:

  • "The way of the fool seems right to him, but a wise man listens to advice." (Proverbs 12:15).

"Blessed is the man who finds wisdom,

The man who gains understanding,
For she is more profitable then silver,
and yields better returns than gold,
She is more precious then rubies;
nothing you desire can compare with her.

Long life is in her right hand;
in her left are riches and honor,
Her ways are pleasant ways,
and all her paths are peace.

She is a tree of life to those who embrace her;
Those who lay hold of her will be blessed."

(proverbs 3:13-18)
